In its infinite wisdom, the government has decided to fix a 500-word limit on applications made under the Right to Information Act.
This is either a ploy to cut down on potentially embarrassing applications, or a hint to RTI applicants to get to the point quicker.
The RTI Act is possibly the best weapon deployed so far against corruption. Its a far more effective and useful mode of empowering people, than the harebrained schemes to set up multiple layers of red-tape in the form of lokpals etc.
